Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Sustainingengineers are primarily responsible for patch diagnostics and backporting,however they are encouraged to contribute to development efforts as well.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of C or Python and an ideal candidatewill have a strong systems or system administration background to understandthe real-world layout of a datacenter in order to debug or optimize deploymentsof this product.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are essential to break down thecomplex issues we see involving manager and virtual machine interaction.Experience working with complex problems in enterprise support is helpful, asis experience working with multi-threaded environments.
You should have experience working in a Linux environment; operationalknowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions (Oracle, Red Hat, CentOS, or SuSE)is very important.
Oracle DB knowledge, Xen hypervisor, and Linux kernel knowledge are notnecessary for this role.
