Crane is hiring! We're looking for a Mixing Technician to join our Nashua, NH team. We look for bright, hard-working people who want to be a part of a world-class organization.

This position reviews the press schedule and demand for product development fluids, determines fluid demand taking into account fluid shelf life, makes fluids, completes appropriate tests for the batch. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, documentation and control of fluid quality, continuous improvement of the fluid making process, and to coordinate maintenance of fluid making equipment.
Requirements:
Preparation of fluids using precise measurements and the use of safety systems is essential as well as carefully following documented procedures to ensure proper formulation to meet customer needs.
Precisely transferring formula by following documented procedures to ensure correct amount of all components are added.
Visual color matching as well as utilizing and understanding of color matching equipment.
Work within the standards as set by OSHA, EPA, and safety requirements we have established as well as regulatory requirements and in accordance with 5S/continuous improvement programs in place.
Cross training, team effort, and ability to work overtime will be necessary.
Analyze schedule to determine fluid demand and that it will be used within shelf life.
Responsible for labeling of material, data entry and keeping neat and accurate records using JDEdwards and MES system.
Inventory and material handling processes must be followed; report issues to shift supervisor.
Measure viscosity using Brookfield viscometer.
Perform ink draw-downs and measure color using Hunterlab spectrophotometer.
Gravimetric solids measurement.
Measure refractive index of fluids using Abbe refractometer.
Perform additional quality testing as required.
Job rotation and back-up support for Coater operations.


Due to the sensitive nature of this role, all applicants must be US Citizens and be able to pass and maintain a security clearance through the US Government


HS Diploma or equivalent.
Mathematical skills including management of scaling batch sizes.
Capable of executing shop floor transactions through the various computer systems.
Possess computer skills necessary to control the associated monitoring and control functions.
Capable of managing work load through effective time management skills.
Maintains appropriate inventory levels using tools such as kanban or min-max.
Attention to detail to execute work at a high level of precision.
Fastidious - very focused on the smallest elements of the task ensuring best possible outcome.
Ability to do testing such as color, viscosity, solids and refractive index.
Communication skills to work as a member of the larger manufacturing team.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
