Description
Primary responsibility for the Technical Support Specialist is to provide telephone and email support for customers on complex technical issues.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Customer Assistance
o Provide telephone support in the ACD based Technical Support Center
o Follow schedule to ensure consistent > 90% Service Level
o Handle pre-sales questions from internal and external customers
o Respond to technical support emails quickly and professionally
o Own issues to complete resolution
o Provide answers to complex technical issues for the entire Extech product line
o Supply technical support documentation to customers via email as requested
o Forward calls or emails to other internal departments as needed
o Create Customer Complaint or Compliment forms as needed
o Complete technical writing for user manuals and other projects as assigned
o Spot trends and feedback data to Engineering to continuously improve products
2. PC interface, Products and Software
o Provide technical support for PC interfacing questions
o Maintain software programs and lists for customer care and web updates
o Communicate with vendors regarding software bugs and updates
o Evaluate new software packages
3. Miscellaneous
o Complete other projects as assigned
Education and
Experience:
o Superior verbal and written communication skills
o Customer service oriented and excellent telephone manner
o Familiarity with electronic instrumentation devices
o Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills
o 2-5 years' related experience
o Previous Call Center experience preferred
o Technical Certificate preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
