Would you like to lead operations for a team of operators and technicians that build some of the most advanced electronics in our defense industry? ECS is looking to add a Value Stream Specialist (VSS) to our operations team and this may be the role for you! The VSS reports to the Product Stream Manager (PSM) and will assist in leading the factory to success across our production programs.
The VSS is responsible for managing a team of operators and technicians towards achieving all factory demands and daily operations.
This individual will interface daily with process engineering, supply chain, and program teams to ensure that the factory is set up for success everyday day while also working to eliminate waste from the value stream and driving towards zero defects.
The VSS not only leads operators, but also own the product being built in the factory.
The candidate for this role will learn about microwave manufacturing at BAE Systems, as well as gain insight into the engineering and program functions from an operations stand point.
The VSS is the go-to person within the factory and assumes all responsibility for daily operations within their team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ownership of daily operations within factory Presents at daily standups and go over priorities daily with team Manage operators and technicians Monitors, influences and tracks production to achieve delivery milestones Partners with supply chain team to ensure the material flow supports factory production demands Collaborates with Process Engineering to find root cause of defects and drive continuous improvement initiatives Ensures factory is adhering to all command media and compliance requirements Participates and/or help leads/assists audits, both internal, DCMA/DCMAS and external audits (BVC) Evaluates staffing levels and supports PSM in hiring efforts Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
General understanding of manufacturing.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Strong leadership, people skills, judgement and problem solving capabilities.
Experience with Microsoft suit products such as:
excel, word, power point, etc.
Understanding basic of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Great leadership skills and ability to motivate others.
Knowledge or experience using Confluence.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
$62260 - $105820 Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures.
However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
