Job Description The Vice President, Human Resources will be responsible for developing and executing the human capital strategy for the Electronic Systems (ES) sector of BAE Systems, Inc. Reporting to the sector president, this leader will be the Business/Strategic partner to the sector senior leadership team for the $6B business comprised of over 15,000 employees geographically dispersed across the U.S. and U.K. The HRVP is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, talent acquisition, change management, organizational management, diversity, equity & inclusion, training and development and resolution of employee and labor relations matters. In addition, this individual is responsible for ensuring a compliant work place for all employees in the business. The HRVP will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Inc Senior VP, Human Resources and Administration and will be responsible for partnering with the COEs to develop and support the overall Inc. HR strategy. Essential Functions Critical to the success of the Vice President, Human Resources will be his/her ability to accomplish the following:
Exemplify ES Cultural Principles in all aspects of work. Develop and execute HR strategic plans to support the achievement of the overall business objectives. Function as a strategic business advisor to the senior leadership of each business unit or functional group regarding key organizational and management issues. Develop comprehensive, data-driven Strategic Workforce Plans and execute recruitment and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of the business. Ensure the ability to attract, develop and retain high quality talent to support the growth objectives, opportunities and strategies of the sector. Build and maintain a strong, effective and respected Human Resources organization that is proactive and anticipatory, viewed by its internal clients, at all levels, as vital to the organization's success. Working collaboratively with the Centers of Expertise (COEs), proactively plan and execute programs that will continuously stretch the organization to ensure that the business maintains strength in human capital, talent and culture. Be an active and visible advocate and driver for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partner closely with ES Compliance-related functions (Ethics, Legal, Safety, Labor and Security) on various projects and initiatives. Partner closely with the ES Communications function to shape the media which support ES culture. Partner with COEs to determine and deploy strategies for engagement with and management of labor unions. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in related field A minimum of 15 years or progressively responsible experience with at least 5 years leadership responsibility in the Human Resources field. Success as a human resources generalist background with broad knowledge of HR strategic initiatives, talent acquisition, HR operations, organizational development, employee relations, compensation, and utilization of analytics to make data driven decisions. Proven ability to formulate strategies, plans or solutions by connecting differing inputs and by applying general HR expertise and business acumen. Experience advising leadership in all HR aspects by applying effective change management, knowledge of the business, and emotional intelligence to influence the direction of the organization with or without positional authority. Effectively lead HR teams to deliver outstanding performance to the business. Develop team members for future needs of the organization. Proven experience achieving organizational objectives by collaborating with others and leading teams of individuals who are not direct reports. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
HR Management, Environmental Health & SafetyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
