PDS Tech has excellent opportunities for experienced Lab Technician for a position in the Nashua, NH area.
Datacenter/IT Lab Technician (Mid-Level)
o Ideal candidates should have strong experience working in a data center environment (not necessarily a lab environment), strong experience racking and cabling enterprise gear, sufficient enterprise hardware trouble shooting servers.
o Solid understanding of other enterprise hardware including KVMs, PDUs, NICs, etc. Knowledge of servers and switches is a plus, but not required. Ability to set up, configure, and install various types of rack mounted hardware as well as configure software. Configure switches, terminal servers, and power distribution units. Assist other technicians, schedulers, and engineers in completing assigned tasks which may include performing inventory, drive sledding, grouping and labeling network cables, etc. Assemble and disassemble test configurations as necessary.
o Attend and participate in project team meetings as needed. Constructing, troubleshooting and testing prototype assemblies, documenting process as necessary. Ability to set up, configure, and install various types of rack mounted hardware.
o Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in enterprise level datacenter including servers and switches experience. Knowledge/understanding of enterprise hardware/components, such as servers, switches, PDUs, KVMs, storage controllers, RAID settings/configuration, 1GbE and 10GbE NICs, HBAs, onboard management, BIOS settings/configuration, power supplies, etc. Ability to install/replace server components as needed. Basic knowledge of systems management tools. Ability to use system management tools to monitor and/or troubleshoot hardware. Knowledge of enterprise hardware a plus, specifically 12th-generation R- and C-series servers, iDRAC, and Force10 1GbE and 10GbE switches. SAN/NAS storage experience preferred.
